the amount of glucose present in the bloodstream. When there is a large amount
of blood glucose in the body, such as after meals, the pancreas secret larger
amounts of insulin known as bolus insulin. Using patch pumps, the rate of
insulin delivery can be adjusted in response to the liver’s pattern of glucose
secretion.
